The Office for Institutional Effectiveness oversees all research activities on campus, which includes research generated by all LBC departments, research conducted by our students as part of their educational requirements, and research conducted by outside individuals or organizations which involves our students, faculty or staff members.

Institutional Research

Assessment at LBC is dependent on research activities. Most of the research LBC conducts is informal in nature and usually consists of surveys administered to a variety of populations including not only students but faculty, staff, graduates, employers of our graduates, and other groups of LBC constituents. LBC will often utilize third parties to assist in the administration of research activities. The links below include additional information regarding our research activities as well as links to those organizations we contract with to conduct research and those organizations for which we collect the data.

Institutional Review Board

The Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness serves as the chair of the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Institutional Review Boards are federally mandated review boards charged with the responsibility of protecting human participants involved in research. Only federally funded research is required to have IRB review; however, as many colleges and universities have done, Lancaster Bible College has chosen to voluntarily follow the federal guidelines with regards to research activities conducted on campus or by our students. Additional information regarding applying to conduct research on the campus of LBC can be found at the following locations.
